Domain name redirection

My site files are located under a specific folders including my index file. How can I redirect a site visitor so that if my domain name is typed, it is redirected to my index file which is under a specific folder?

I can surely understand why most of the files are located in other folders, but am not sure why you would move the index file. This is highly unusual, and I am not sure that you can do a redirect that way. The redirect feature is designed to redirect the entire domain to another server or domain.
