Too many hosts are there

There are thousands of hosts out there, with news ones coming up every week, but does anyone everthink there are too many hosts out there?

Any thoughts/comments on this subject?

There aren't too many hosts but there are too many scam artists and fly by nighters who claim to be hosts.

The economic barriers as well as technological barriers to the hosting market place are so low than very young children can become Web hosts.

I agree, there may be a lot of host, but most are gone before you know it.

There are too many people out there leasing cheap servers and offering dirt cheap prices that don't know how to run them. When I leased my first server, I leased it for several months without putting any customers on it so I could take that time learning the system. Sure, it was several hundred or even thousand dollars, but should prove to be worth it in the long run. So many people just jump into a new server and think they can run it but at the expense of their customers.

Are there too many hosting providers? Yes.

Are there too many quality hosting providers? No.

i don't think there are too many hosts i just think that a lot charge far too little, dont think it through, go out of business and give the industry a bad name.

I think there are a lots of Host but most of them are Reseller.

True, Some of our best customers are resellers, but I'm talking about the one-man shops that just resell and don't provide any sort of support themselves.
